My new home.

After all that whining I made in the last post, this is a positive post. I am so impressed by the hostel facilities provided by NTU amongst other things. Graduate students are accommodated in Graduate Hall, Nanyang Heights and Nanyang Valley. I am currently staying in Graduate Hall. The number to my room is interesting: 01-02-03 (Lobby 1: Level 2: Room no: 3) :)

This is the entrance to my room. What you see in the right is the wardrobe and in the left is the toilet! An attached toilet is a cool thing if you are not thinking about the responsibility to clean it. There is a notice in that door which specifically says about cleanliness. As Singapore is a “FINE” country I don’t dare to disobey.

This is all the room is about.

Another View. :)

That is my work desk (or simply desk). It is quite big.

Do you see that heater in there. Heater is not a necessity here in Singapore. I don’t know why they have it.

That is how the Graduate Hall looks like, when I look up from the corridor. You guessed right.. You are seeing the A/C compressors.. We have air conditioners in hall rooms. Just that we need to pay every time we use it, with a pre paid card. I did not buy the card (yet). Again, the climate of Singapore does not demands an A/C.

The sad thing is that we are privileged to have these facilities (the room rent is damn cheap) only for 10 months. We will be kicked out of this place after that and have to find private apartments.

  1. Nice! Quite nice..
The room looks very small though.
If that be the case, you’d be happy to move to a more spacious shared apartment after a few months..
    All the best for you.

    Thank you.
The room is small but I have been living in a smaller room at NIT.
Moving out to a shared apartment also sounds good..

Yup, you saw a guitar… I have been carrying that for some time now, assuming I’ll start learning it someday..
