I have a serious problem of being friendly with complete strangers!! And this was at its peak when I joined GEC. And hence I was confined to a group of close friends and mingling with girls was something near to Herculean a task. But, I was so lucky to be in the best class ever to be in the college. I know most of us think that our own class is the best but I don’t think anyone who really knows about our class would argue. So, been in the best class, they made me change. And very soon I got a lot of friends (almost everyone) and that was really nice an experience.  Hey hey hey, I am completely deviating from what I am supposed to write. I really don’t know what others thought about me in the initial days of my B-Tech. But a friend of mine told an incident that happened between us at that time (which I don’t remember) and it seems to be funny. She is a good friend of mine now but at the time of this incident we haven’t even talked for once (so she said). ...

Home Alone…. My father had gone for a tour accompanying his students for a week. And that means for the next one week I am all alone at home. Let me see how it will go.. The best thing about Thiruvananthapuram is that we got beaches over here, very near to the city! It has been long since I went to a beach. Next week i need not have to give company to anyone and the complete 24 hours a day is mine (except for work hours). I am getting really really silly, nowadays.. I was thinking a lot about this man today    He is my grandfather (my mother’s father), the only one among my grandparents whom i haven’t seen. Whenever I talk about him i use ‘Muthachan’ to refer him. Muthachan was a great admirer of life and beauty of earth. He wanted to live a thousand years if possible. According to my mother he is the best father ever lived in this world. He loved his children more than anyone could love. You may have a difference in opinion but my mother never agrees.. He died when my mother was 13 in a car accident. Of my grandparents the one whom i love the most is my grandmother (Amooma, Muthachan’s wife). The usual wake up time for me is 8:30 but today i had to wake up at about 5.30 to drop my father at railway station. He gave me a package, which were some documents, to be given to one of his colleague and he showed me the house in our way to railway station. He did not want to disturb them at that time and told me to give the package on my way back. That was a real foul… He could have told me that before. I was in my night dress! (a 3/4th and a 10th std T-shirt). I reached at about 6, back to their house after dropping him. And still the gate was locked and no lights were on. I thought of waiting till 6.30 there, observing (vayanottam to be precise) the joggers! Einstein had a point.. Time is relative.. It took about an hour for the time to reach 6:10. And that changed my mind. No matter what they think i decided to disturb them and started striking the gate. This continued for about 2-3 minutes and i failed terribly. What to do now.. Two months at work and I have been learning how stuffs go in a R&D company (so they say, you can as well read it as ‘company’). Now the major job of the one who comes to evaluate the work is to find the faults of the ‘product’. I love the way the following 3 engineers design and develop the project. Before that in our company MD himself comes for demo evaluation. Engineer A MD asks to develop an aeroplane. A begins the work immediately. He thinks about all the possibilities, even starts to think what to do when AL-Qaeda attacks the plane. Once he had the overview it would be too late, when he knows that the company does not want to stop AL-Qaeda from attacking this plane, but he wants his idea to be implemented. He design and develop giving slots for further upgradation of the plane to resist the attacks (as company might have the plan to resist in future.
